Who is Jesus?: I am still learning

As of recently, I have been lead by The Holy Spirit to seek an intimate relationship with Jesus.

I can not say that I had this type of relationship previously.

I glorify Jesus Christ, for drawing me nearer to Him

Who Is Jesus?

15 Then h

He asked them, “But who do you say I am?”

16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.

17 Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being.

18 Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.

19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”

Matthew 16:13-20 NLT

He is many wonderful things all of which is within us because we have The Spirit of God in us and is now for us to possess.

21 Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: 22 whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come—all are yours.

23 And you are Christ’s, and Christ is God’s.

1 Corinthians 3:21-23 NKJV

When we obey Jesus’ commandments (to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and love everyone as Jesus loves us – Luke 10:27 NKJV), He remains in us by the Spirit of God that lives in us.

15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

16 And I will pray to the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever

17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

John 14:15-17 NKJV

1st Corinthians 1:30 AMPC tells us who Jesus is and to us who believe.

30But it is from Him (God) that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our WISDOM from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as]

our RIGHTEOUSNESS [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and

our CONSECRATION [making us pure and holy], and

our REDEMPTION [providing our ransom from eternal penalty of sin].

  • Jesus is Our WISDOM from God

Wisdom is revelation. Jesus was in fact the revelation of God’s divine plan, which is eternal salvation to all men. Jesus both brought us this revelation, this divinely eternal, life-changing wisdom from God AND He is the revelation manifested.

He is the divine wisdom.

Ladies and Gentlemen we must rejoice over this. *Take a time-out to give God a praise and dance*

Because of Jesus Christ, His obedience to God and His love for us in our undeserving state, He made a perfect sacrifice at the Cross and as a result, we have been given the free gift of righteousness from God. Our righteousness is IN Christ alone.

God only sees Jesus when He looks at us because we are IN Christ (http://ubdavid.org/advanced/new-life2/new-life2_8.html

That means Jesus is our RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jesus has an active and principal part in our title as the righteous children of God.

God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

2nd Corinthians 5:21 NIV

This righteousness is perfect because Christ is perfect.

This righteousness never changes because Christ never changes.

This righteousness is now our righteousness because we are IN CHRIST.. (http://ubdavid.org/advanced/new-life2/new-life2_8.html

Jesus presented Himself as a living sacrifice; a spotless Lamb for our sins. Within His 3 years as a man on the Earth, He did not sin once.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are–yet he did not sin.

Hebrews 4:15 NIV

Jesus set Himself apart from sin and presented His life, including His body as a living sacrifice.

We too are to present our physical bodies as living sacrifices to God and like Jesus, also our entire life should be defined as being a living sacrifice. To be a living sacrifice is to give God total control over your entire life.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 12:1 NKJV

Jesus gave this control by submitting to the Father’s Will on the Cross. It was painful and “yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him because of what it would mean for us, God’s beloved. (Isaiah 53:10)

Jesus is our Lamb, who kept Himself spotless as a sacrifice for all of our sins.

He is Our Saviour. He saved us from eternal damnation because of our sins. He paid the price on the Cross for all our sins in the past, present and future.

12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,

13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.

14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Hebrews 10: 12-14 NKJV

One sacrifice by the Beloved Son of God has wiped our sins away forever!

Jesus is your Redemption, Wisdom, Consecration and Righteousness.

He is yours to claim as Saviour, High Priest, Provider, Best friend and more.
